#1. General Q&A

Just like Marlene and Etumu I am writing this Q & A because many people asked the same question and these are my answers. What is UWC? United World Colleges are Colleges for students aged 16 -19. It is not an ordinary school, you live there in a boarding school and learn subjects you have chose yourself. They do their International Baccalaureate. For more information click www.uwc.ac.at Why do you change? Well I have been studying in Vienna since Kindergarten and I really love it. But in year 2016 I realized that I am not happy learning here because somehow my passion (which I haven't discover yet) is not supported. The school system is more about learning by heart than learning with your heart. How did you know about it? Then last summer vacation I saw it on a homepage of my scholarship called 'Start-Stipendium' (www.starts-stipendiun.at) and researched about it. It sound very interesting so I applied and thank god I have been selected. How long is the education going to be? When will you come back? The UWC programme will take 2 years. But I will come back for holidays (winter and summer vacation). When/ how are you going to arrive in UWC RBC? We have to arrive on 25 th of August. I will leave Vienna on 23th and go with my family to Zürich by train and then by bus to Freiburg.

Do you know your roommates? No, I have no clue who my rommies are going to be, so it's going to be a surprise for me. But I have met Flora and Sarah, who are going to be my second years. Both are really nice and cool. They answered (thank god) many questions regarding RBC. So I am really thankful to them :) Which subjects did you choose? German A HL English A SL Geography HL Physics SL Maths SL Theatre HL Honestly speaking I can't remember right which subjects I have exactly chosen, but I think these should be the right ones. But frankly speaking I think my choices aren't right for me. But the first week is going to be an orientation week and they will present the subjects. Afterwards we can think about them and change the subjects if necessary. What are you going to do after the College? I don't know. But I want to do something with technology. Let's see. What are you going to take with you to RBC? Everything what I really want and need. Things I can live without I didn't take with me. What about homesickness? Yes I will surely be homesick, but I know I can speak with them via social media. Nowadays it's easy to contact people abroad. I will miss everyone my family, my friends, my room, my school, everything but I'll come back. So we have come to the end of my first blog post :) I hope I could answer your questions if you have further questions regarding to RBC or anything else contact me on lalita.digwal81@gmail.com
