Hello, I am wanted to write this post because the application through the National Committee of Austria already started. So this post is especially for students who are thinking to apply.
I categorized my journey into 5 levels
1. written application
It can be that the application is really long (it was for me, too), but just do what it says. Write the essays, tick what is appropriate for you and send them all documents on time.
2. weekend in Klosterneuburg
After some time when the committee members have read all application, they decide on some people who come to the weekend. This is the point where you really can feel the UWC Spirit. You will make friends, learn about different backgrounds, etc.
There are discussions, games and interviews, where you participate and have fun. :)
3. one day in Vienna
Then they invite the applicants to Vienna, and there you again have games, interviews and discussions.
This is the last step of the application.
When the committee members think you are able for the IB and an UWC, they will call you and congratulate you for this achievement.
4. preparation
Don't be a packing procrastinator like me ;) And don't pack your whole life, you don't need everything. Just enjoy your time at your home and look forward to what will happen in the UWC.
5. Arrival
Be chilled, I know you are excited and nervous (I was nervous, too) to see people with so many new faces and so many new names which you cannot remember. But during the orientation week you will know each other.
I could write so much more on each level, but I don't want to because for applicant it might be confusing or something. I want you to collect your experience on your own. :) And just be yourself during the whole application(and in your life, of course), be patient and enjoy it! :))
And the application with the National Committee Austria: click here to apply until 31/10/2017
This is my journey/ my experience.
